What are the main factors that affect the performance of the microprocessor?
Also does anyone know of a site that compares intel and motorola processors?

Thanks

I assume you mean overall system performance, so I will say that raising the FSB\memory speed is a huge factor. Even at stock speed, lowering the multiplier and raising the FSB\memory speed can raise the memory bandwidth by a huge amount, especially on DDR and RAMBUS systems. If you want better integer performance, faster CPU clock speeds pretty much raise that in equal increments. FPU is extremely important but also seem to get better results from faster clocked processors than fsb\memory speeds.

As far as the Motorola, do you mean the mobile Motorola that is taking forever?
