CPU Overheat?

My 1.4 Tbird runs at about 44 degrees C while just idling in windows. Would this cause my computer to freeze up randomly?

44 degrees shouldn't cause your system to crash. It's actually a pretty decent temp with stock cooling.

that's pretty good temp if your using stock. Im using volcano 2 and i idle at 49 with covers on, 44 with covers off, and 39 with a fan blowing in to it (this was taken in the summer, dunno about now, i haven't turned it on cuz i can't use it cuz it has no hard drive)

Ok thanks but now I have no clue why my computer does freeze up. It is almost guaranteed to happen when I play a 3d game such as half-life or the new wolfenstein demo and it also happens when I'm just cruising in windows. I am also unable to restart my computer, after shutting down it just sits with all the led lights on. Any ideas?

My System:
Tbird 1.4
Abit KG7-RAID
256 mb Crucial DDR RAM
In-Win Q500 Case
MSI Geforce 2 Pro
:disgust:

Do you have any other RAM you can try out on your system? That would be the first thing I would check with your type of hard lock ups.
