CPU overheat at default voltage?

I just built this system:

Epox 8rda+ newest nvidia drivers
Barton 2500+
1 512 MB stick of Crucial 2700 RAM
Radeon 8500 LE 3.2 catalyst drivers
WD 80 MB HDD
Lite-on CDRW

With all default bios settings, Half-life quits with an illegal op after about 15 minutes, at which time the cpu temp is 43 celsius. At idle the temp is 39. Is this too high? (i haven't been able to locate a chart that shows what the temp SHOULD be) The fan is the one that came in the retail box with the cpu.

EDIT: Also, it can't run Prime95 for even one iteration, quits with a hardware error.

Temps are good.
I'm not sure about this, but I think I read in a forum that 512MB Crucial pc2700 is not good in nforce2 mobos. Maybe you could check the Epox site for compatibility? Or just run Memtest86.
If its not the memory, there may be a bios setting that is not correct.

Just wanted to confirm that this was indeed the problem. I swapped out the RAM and everything is hunky-dory. Strange that this board would have a problem with Crucial RAM.
