recently my computer has been turned off when I've gotten home, and it's been displaying this error. In my apartment the air conditioner in the living room (where the computer is located) is jacked up, and it's been between 87-93 F .. so I assumed that was why it shut down. however it shut down a couple of hours ago on my gf while she was doing it, and I tried turning it back on and it shut back down before windows was fully loaded.

what should I do?

If you feel comfortable doing it, I would remove the HSF and clean it good, then reapply the thermal grease and the HSF. It may also be that the fan on your HSF has died or become unplugged.

Turn it on with the side of the case open so you can observe the fan attached to the CPU heatsink. Does the fan come on and spin up properly when the system is powered up? Is it clogged with dust/pet hair/cooties or other debris between the fan or heat sink blades? Make sure the air intakes going into and out of the system case are free of dust clogs and obstructions as well. Proper air flow is necessary to maintain a good operating temperature within the CPU case. Also, do you notice any noise coming from the CPU fan? Does it look like it is struggling to spin or spin at a fluctuating or non-constant rate? And of course make sure that the plug to the CPU fan has not come loose from the motherboard and is seated tightly.
