Just happened to restart my computer tonight. When I watched the post screen, it said my cpu, athlon 1.2(266fsb) was running at 900(100fsb). Whaaaat? Never tried to oc it, so it should be fine.

It's a brand new MSI K7T266 Pro2A board with a brand new Athlon 1.2(266fsb). I popped my duron700 in their, it detected fine. But that's only 100fsb.

Is it possible that the board is dead? In the bios, it no longer gives me the option to change the fsb from 100 to 133. It's greyed out, like as if I had a 100mhz cpu in there.

So here's the dilema, do I buy a new cpu (the 7 days I have to return a cpu to mwave has gone by) or do I rma the board?

The board does have another problem, the ram slot#1 is defective, wont detect my memory...

Can you not change the FSB to 133 via a jumper on the motherboard?

If the DIMM slot is damaged then you should certainly RMA the board, anyway.

Yes, why clear the CMOS when you can just RMA the board and have it arrived clear anyway? RMA is a smart choice.

RMA it is. I've got to contact MWave today, get me an RMA number.

What shall I do in the meantime? I'd like to pick up another board (snicker) but I don't need another system. Hell, my electric bill don't need another system!

Dang, they don't pick up the phone this early. Email it is.
