CPU or Graphics Card - bottleneck?

Hi there,

I need to upgrade my system, but am not sure which one would make more sense:

I got a Geforce 2 GTS and a TBird 800

Would it make sense to stick a Ti4200 in this system to bump up my FPS in Q3 or would the CPU the limiting factor and a XP processor would make things better?

thanks for your thoughts/experience,

Markus

If FPS is what you want, get a new vid card. GF4 is great.

Your 800mhz tbird will be the bottleneck along with memory bandwidth, but you can overclock it some mhz and you'll get even better performance, your GF2 is still ok, but to get high FPS at high resolutions there is no other answer, a new vid card.

Gettin a new CPU would not help much, in encoding video/audio and some other stuff you'll feel the difference, but in 3d games not so much.
