Been checking on EB@y for one of these boards for my Dad, and I saw someone claiming they support up to a p3 800....I'm running a 300/a at 450 now, and I'd love to get something faster in it. If I pick up one of the slot converter thingys (and is the MSI Master Socket the best for an Abit?), will I be able to use a p3 800? I may have to flash the bios, but other then that, will it work? TIA

I am an abit Bx6 rev 1 user and I am running my 300a @450..I too want to make the jump to P3 so flashed to bios to the latest. I never did a bios flashe, at first I thought I messed up. But I got the new bios in and a have either an 8 or 8.5 multiplier now...At the abit website the bios mentioned only P3600 ,still nice for a mobo that was originally max at p2 450....Also in regards to slotkets I have heard with the bx6 rev 1 the voltage will be controlled in the bios not by the sloket. But a sloket can still be used, abit makes one called the Abit slocket 3 I believe.
I hope this helps, perhaps someone here has made this upgrade can provide the cpu max for the bx6 rev1.....

Good luck ,
Breeze

Yeah, thats what I really was happy with after I first flashed it, and saw I could go to 550mhz. I thought it was a good deal when I first bought it and it maxed out at 450. I'll wait and see what CPU prices do, and I may pick one up. Ill keep you posted.
