CPU not getting power...?

Hi there 🙂 Let me be brief:
- I changed my PC case and CPU cooler.
- Couldnt boot it, so I swapped back the old working CPU cooler and reassembled it outside the case with just the bare minimum of things.
- It should work now, but no, it powers on, everything spins for a few seconds then it turns off. I have to cut the power or hold the power button for 10 seconds or so before each try.
- Found out that the CPU is cold to touch and not getting warmer even after 15 and more seconds of being on.
- The 24-pin and 2x4-pin connectors are reading good voltages, so the problem is somewhere between those connections and the CPU.
- This leads me to my question: What is most likely to be the faulty thing here? Motherboard, CPU or PSU? Thanks!!

To me it sounds like the board as you are getting power on and no beep codes. Having said that, make sure you have a speaker plugged in (if there isn't one on the board) to be sure there aren't any.

CPU would be far down the list, simply because a faulty CPU is so rare.

Thanks for replying. That's what I thought, too. But I need to be sure before I buy a new component.. Is there any way to test it? I have a multimeter but I don't know how to measure the motherboard directly..
Also, unfortunately I don't have a motherboard speaker...

Yea, you're right. Anyway, faster than getting a speaker will be to have it taken look at in some PC repair shop. I will go there tomorrow.
I just needed your opinion what you think is the most likely culprit. Thanks!
Although I still don't understand what could have happened to a perfectly fine motherboard during a careful swap between cases...

Denis, trust me, I've done everything. Battery taken out, CMOS cleared, I even flashed the BIOS with a new version... No luck.
