Hi need some help on the difference between these two settings, noob at overclocking so im trying to find the limits on the new Am3 phenoms. I notice I can get above 3.0 when I increase the cpu nb voltage, but what is considered "Safe". I go ahead and run CPUZ's and my cpu voltage stays the same, so I gather Im not actually increasing the cpu voltage.

Confused.:(

Welcome to the world of overclocking and getting the most bang for your buck. :)

I'm also very new to this, but it sounds like you're adjusting your motherboard's northbridge voltage and not the actual CPU voltage. They should be two different settings in your BIOS. I don't know much about overclocking AMDs, but could you please tell us exactly which motherboard and CPU you're using? That way, we can give you a better and more accurate answer.

Actually the northbridge has its own seperate voltage control option aside from the Cpu nb voltage, that is why im confused, I uploaded a picture of my bios here check it out.
