OK so I just bought a new PC: http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...overview/asus-essentio-cm6850-01-99045265.htm

And I was downloading my normal system tools when I opened Speccy, which is like CPUID HW:

It read temperatures as follows:

CPU- 35 degrees Celsius
Motherboard- 70-90 degrees celsius (very hot)

CPUID HW read:
SYSTIN-28 degrees celsius
CPUTIN- 88 degrees celsius
AUXTIN- 72 degrees celsius
TMPIN3-36 degrees celsius

So far i am getting different responses depending on program:

So i went into the bios, (which on ASUS's is very easy and you can use a mouse)

BIOS stated the temps as:
CPU: 87.8 Degrees FARENHEIGHT/ 31 degrees Celsius
Motherboard: 73.4 degrees FARENHEIGHT/ 23. Degrees Celsius

The heat sink fan is functioning (its the stock one)
And the other fan towards the rear of the case is also running

I have not noticed any performance lags, i dont think

But i am afraid about the temps, what could be going on and why are the reportings different depending on program?

Speccy is what you stated but said it's like the app. Do they both read the same?

Hit and miss like I stated.

Any idea what MB is in the rig? Maybe look at Asus site to see if they have an app for the MB. Sometimes the MB's app works best for checking temps, voltages.

Did your rig come pre-loaded with Asus software? I think they have an app that does monitor temps and voltages, etc. AI suite is what it's lumped into I think.

I wouldn't worry about those readings as they aren't correct anyways.

Looks like your rig has this MB P8H67-M PRO as far as I can tell....Based on the downloads for your model looking at the bios versions shown. Strange that looking up the MB way shows alot more recent bios versions available.

Well 70's is understandable. Also make sure your fan speed is set to 100 percent manually ... It shouldnt reach 80's or 90's ////// It can still operate but the life will be dramatically reduced. gl

Just ignore the temps on the motherboard, it isn't a concern if you don't even overclock. It is very likely that the readings are way off and no motherboard will be that hot.
