CPU+MOBO - which one is better in general

Abit IT7 Max ( not V2) + 2.53Ghz Intel or
Asus Nforce2 Deluxe + AMD XP2400+
with overclocked, which one is better and without OC, which is better
Intel combo is $40 less than AMD combo
which one should I get?
I mainly used to encoding video ( vcd, svcd, mpg2 ) so should I go for intel or amd?????
