The quest for a little perfomance bump continues....

I have a question about CPUs... so sit tight.

Current system:

Pentium 4 1.8Aghz CPU (now OCed to 2.0ghz)
Soyo Dragon Ultra mobo (SY-P4S-645DX)
1 gig PC2700 RAM (2.5-3-3)

After finally figuring out how to get my CPU to OC, I hit a limit at 2.0ghz pretty quick. Now I am looking to upgrade my CPU to a faster set up to delay my building of a new rig until spring (yes... the new rig will be a Core 2 Duo E6400... but that is half a year off for me).

My mobo info says it can support up to 2.2ghz... but that was the fastest availible at the time of printing. The Northwood socket 478 ran all the way to 2.8ghz with a 533fsb (the mobo can OC all the way out to a 664 fsb just not the 800 of some faster chips.).

The CPU is still a Northwood, socket 478 and has a FSB of 533...

So shouldn't this processor work on my mobo?

I know it will be no where as good as the Core 2 Duo, but I just want to keep myself happy for now without dropping too much money. This machine will probably stay my internet machine after the new box is built (for video editing). Just looking for some input.

Thanks!
