CPU & memory upgrade // Links 2003 unhappy

Just upgraded my cpu from 1.8 to 2.8ghz on my Abit IT7 MB, and added another 512 stick of Corsair XMS-3200 ram for total of 1 gig. Same Gainward GeForce 4400 vid card w/ 6177 drivers. Direct X 9.0c
Now Links 2003 golf game will not run, kicks back to desktop...yes, I did uninstall/re-install game...

What to do.... un-install, re-install vid card?

First thing I would do is use memtest86 to check my new ram. Make sure both sticks are playing together nice

I've had that game refuse to run on a geForce2 and geForce4mx (latest drivers and whatnot...). It should at least have had no trouble with the gf4. Certainly, test your new hardware with other tools, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just the game being stupid.

Yikes, that memtest86 program I can't figure out ... anything easier to use out there that will do the same thing?

Kamper... would you uninstall / re-install video card?

I didn't. For the gf2 I didn't figure it was worth it. The gf4 is in my dad's computer which isn't to be messed with. I also had my newer computer around and installed on that instead. I have no idea if this would help but what if you rolled back to a version of DirectX closer to the one that the game requires?
