cpu memory question

hi, i want to ask if i can buy a memory with other frequency from the same type..
cause when i look at some cpu specs like of the new i5 6600k..
the intel's site specs shows that the Memory Types are "DDR3L 1600/DDR4 2133"
but the motherboard fits higher frequency then the CPU.
so the question is.. if the motherboard fits a ddr4 3000mhz.
the ddr4 3000mhz will work??

Yes.

You can run faster memory.

You can see this being done in the sites that are benchmarking CPUs.

6600K with 2133 ddr4 and then with 3200 ddr4, the charts are mislabeled ddr3:
