i'm running an abit is7 with a p4 2.6c and 2 sticks of the new corsair xms pro, pc3200 (fyi, i love the leds - maximum geek factor!). anyway, i can oc to 254/202 (5:4 ratio) with no problems, mem timings set via spd to 2-3-3-7. above this speed the system starts to get unstable when doing graphics intensive stuff. my question is, is it better to run slower with tighter mem timing, or faster with slower mem timing (ie, 2.5-3-3-7, or some such)? from everything i've read it sounds as if a lot of folks relax the mem timings to oc even higher, but given the big perf. loss when going from cas 2.0 to cas 2.5 i can't imagine how this would get me better performance than i have right now. i know i could go play with it myself but i'm wondering what other peoples thoughts/experience on this is.
fyi, when running at 1:1 ratio, i can't get any higher than 216/216, 2-3-3-7. perhaps here's where loosening the timing would get me a big bump?
