Is the an URL about how to make a keychain out of a CPU? I broke my CPU last friday installing my new water system. I have nothing to do with the CPU so I figerd it be a good idea to make a decoration of it being a keychain. Also whats the AMD TB made of silicon or something else like a metal? Is the AMD TB hard enough to make a hole through it?

The core itself is silicon and I believe that rest of it (the part you'd be drilling through) is some sort of ceramic. Just bust out the drill, put a hole in that thing, and slide a keyring through it.

Get a tiny carbide drillbit and go to town. ;)

Use real high RPM small bit at first

If you try to jam a big bit thru the ceramic, it'll shatter.

Cool :) I would like to do that :) All I ahve to do now is find a Chip from somewhere... *Scans room for something*

And IaPuP is right, start off with a smallish drill bit, and then work your way up slowly making the whole larger or the whole PCB board may shatter, as I found out the hard way with some old stuff at school a few years back :p, got splinters too trying to clear up the mess :(

Anyway good luck :)

Albert.

I've seen a lot of people make keychains out of old SIMM ram sticks too (many of them even have the hole in the pcb already so no drilling required). It looks neat, though I hate "bulky" keychains myself (the only one I have is a 'gold' 99 that's not very big. got it at high school graduation).

I have put some SIMM sticks on my keychain. They are small too.
