Tried last night and then again just now. Something was wrong. I gave it at least two tries each time, and every time, the place timed out before ever responding. The two are the Falcon Rock II, and the Whisper Rock IV. Both are for AMD Socket A cpu's, and I wanted to try to figure out where they rank compared to a Retail stock AMD hsf that came with a Barton 2800. The stocker seems to be working nicely on an XP 2600, but that one is "Underclocked" right now, since it would run full speed at 333 fsb, but the MB it's on now tops out at 266.
I'm about to move the XP 2600 onto an MSI K7N2 micro-ATX MB in an Enlight 7180 case; I suspect I'll need more hsf cooling capacity in that more-restrictive box! The XP 2400 that will swap into the mid-tower PowMax box where the 2600 has been will be running at a higher relative speed, given its native 266 fsb rating. I think that the retail hsf ought to keep on being useful when moved to the 2400, but since I did have the aftermarket jobbies on hand anyway . .
(Edit: it's some little while later - roughly an hour and a half, and when again attempting a connection at Frosty, I got an immediate response of "Connection Refused" -- ve-r-r-r-y interesting!)
(OK, Frosty's back again. Second edit is about 7:50 PM, and the Whisper Rock is seemingly a waste of storage space here unless I ever need a super quiet hsf for a system with an already-cool-running cpu! {Doesn't even match to a Retail hsf's capacity.} The Falcon Rock, on the other hand, apparently isn't half bad for what it costs. If you ever want some actual numbers for noise and for cooling capacity, it's the place to go.)
