Never had this issue before, but then the HS's on chipsets are getting bigger than ever.
Using a Gigabyte DS3R (Rev. 2.1) mobo with Zerotherm's BTF90 "butterfly" HSF. Nice cooler, and installation was a snap (until I noticed the interference afterwards). From the side view I can see that the bottom fin of the cooler contacts the HS on the North Bridge and contact is in two places ... at the tips of the "butterfly wing". From the top view I can see that the "wing" overhangs the HS on the North Bridge by approx. 5mm. So it's not much of an interference.
I'm tempted to leave it be since it's only the one fin touching in a couple places.
Any reason(s) not to leave it as is ?
Thanks ...
