Specs:
Asus A7V8X
Athlon XP 3000+ Barton
Corsair 512MB XMS 3500 C2
Promise FastTrak TX2 RAID Controller
Maxtor 60GB 7200 RPM HD x 2 on Raid 0
SB Audigy 2 Platinum
Leadtek GF4 Ti4600
Antec TruePower 480w PSU
Koolance PC2-C Watercooled Case
52x24x52x CD-RW
16x Toshiba DVD ROM
WinXP Pro

Everything at default settings.

I just replaced a 2400+ 266 FSB and 1GB generic PC2100 with a new 3000+ Barton and a 512 stick of Corsair XMS 3500 C2 memory and ran Seti@Home overnight. This system had reset in the morning. Nothing else in the system was replaced and had been running Seti for a month. The Asus Probe v2.20 software showed CPU 38c and motherboard 40c at full load. The probe on the waterblock showed 37c. I ran Sandra and one of the performance enhancement tips said something like CPU Core temp of 75c exceeds maximum...check your CPU for proper cooling. I reseated everything and the temps stayed the same. The system now dumps me outta different programs like Rise of Nations demo and MS Outlook about every hour. Even IE 6 dies occassionally now. You think it might be the temp or something else? I appreciate some suggestions.

Possible problems:

- Audigy or Ti4600 driver problem
- Your cas settings could be to extreme
- AGP Fastwrites might be on

It's most likely a driver or memory problem. Uninstall your audigy, your GF4, throw in a different video card and give that a test.

Sounds like it could be memory errors to me. Heat usually makes it lock up. You could try memtest86 for a few hours.
