CPU Heat Issues?

Ok I have been having problems with lock ups and random reboots for a while. Well the Ai Booster used to say that my cpu temps maxed out around 50degrees however after looking at the speedfan readings and Everest readings. It has been saying that my cpu temps are 90 DEGREES CELCIUS! is that even possible?

So I am wondernig is it a heat issue?

My specs
Amd Athlon X2 4600+
2 GB CORSAIR XMS-6400 ddr2800
EVGA 7950gt 256mb
Asus M2N-SLi Deluxe
2 Scythe Ninja case fans (1 in, 1 out)
COOLER MASTER Centurion 532 RC-532-SKN1 Black Aluminum
Im using the stock am2 CPU cooler.

Would this cause problems with lock ups and random reboots as well?

if his cpu did hit 90C wouldnt it majorly throttle? or did throttling disapear with the p4 arch?

Anyhow it could be a diode problem or a heat problem. Maybe you got TONS of dust stuck in the fins of your Sctyhe ninja, and it just needs a good blow out.

Ummmm other then that i have no clue. But yeah i think you also have a bad heating problem. Try to feel your HSF when you have the chance. If its trying to cool something at 90C, then that thing has to be HOT to the touch even.

OH one last note, can you try to take your side pannel off in your case and see if the temps dont stablize? if the temps dont stablize with the side pannel off your comp, then you have a bad contact or your CPU is just screwed.

well err it did restart after leaving it on for hours running prime95 and it did not detecting any erros but on other occasions it does find sometimes rounding errors but it doesnt restart. Oh err right now at idle t runs 3 degrees celcius.

I was running dual prime95 using the and playing cnc3. CNC3 crashed and two prime 95 stopped putting a .5 rounding error. Then I re ran them one immediatly failed again with the same error. Then I ran reran both of them and when I started CNC3 it froze. These kind of issues have been bothering me for months. Any ideas if its not an heat issue because when it restarted i checked the bios monitor says cpu 40 degrees and 34 degrees on the motherboard?

Those temps are acceptable. As prime is failing, I would download and run Memtest,
If your memory tests ok I would be inclined to reformat / reinstall your OS and drivers for your board. I'm not "software savy" enough to play with the settings of my operating system so this approach has worked for me in the past with problems I couldn't solve.
