CPU/GPU Temperature Monitoring Software

I hope this is the correct forum for this post. Its the closest I can find.

So I read all these reviews with people posting their temperatures of their CPU and GPU. Is it just any software, or does my motherboard need to have the proper sensors installed? I'm only able to see my temps on some of my older systems by going into the bios. Of course, that really doesn't tell me anything about load and whatnot.

If it is software, please let me know what to use!
