CPU Fraud? Please help!

I bought a system awhile back(6 months), equipped with an Athlon 800mhz Thunderbird...or at least I think so.

When booting up in BIOS and detecting the CPU, would it specify that it is a Thunderbird? Because all I get is "Athlon 800mhz"; nothing else. I had the Phoenix Bios in my old board and in my new ABIT KT7A-Raid, the Award Bios. Both do notspecify that the CPU is a Thunderbird.

Now before storming into the store kicking and screaming, Thunderbird users, especially with ABIT KT7A-RAID boards, help me out.

Thnks!

Tbirds do not say "Thunderbird" at boot up. Athlon is the "official name for TBirds. You are OK

Also the classic athlon does not come in a socket A version...I believe the Durons post as a Duron...so my guess is that you have a Tbird..just my .02 worth

yeah man "thunderbird" is only a code name...the official name on the retail box is "Athlon with Performance Enhancing Cache" as opposed to just "Athlon"
