there was something saying a barton 2500 and a 9600XT ran D3 pretty well
 
It should run those games pretty well. The developers would be alienating a lot of the market if the said recommended specs are A64 processors or intel equivilent.

On which one you would want to choose, that depends on your budget. You can make a nice gaming system with an A64 3000+ for about $1000 or so.
