cpu for mpeg4 compression?

Hi, i'm planning to upgrade my cpu i was wondering which one (amd/intel) would be better? thx

1ghz or faster is basically it, tbird or p3/p4. only advantage i see is there is an intel optimized flask encoder out.

Would a dually system be fster in compression???

That is is any of the dvix sofware smp enabled???

mpeg2avi px3 seems to take advantage of both of my processors, but it's kinda sketchy, with smp you could encode audio and video at the same time though
