CPU Fan

what is the life cycle of the CPU fan? I have one that I installed on my Athlon64, and it ran great for good 4 to 6 months.

I took the stock fan which comes with Athlon64 and heatsinc, but it was bit loud for my case.
I am using 92 mm fan with temperature control from Compusa. I bought it for its quietness.

last month, my Power Supply died on my ARIA case, and I had to remove everything to get to powersupply excluding mobo.

Last night, I got my powesupply came back, and I connected everything, but fan is not blowing fast enough, and little program which monitors CPU FAN and Temperature and other thing is reporting alarm.

has anyone run into this sort of problem.

CPU or Case fans, there is not a definite info on how long it will last. Since there are a million brands of fans it's so hard to come with specifics on how long it will last. I personally like the panaflo's. I've had these fans for more than a decade and they are still running like it did the first day. They come in different flavors depending on how fast and loud you wanted. L (more quiet and slow speed) and M (medium noise and speed) series are usually the popular ones. I've replaced all case, cpu and psu fans with panaflo's. In addition, you need to make sure you have the proper air path in your case.
