cpu fan stopped working

cpu fan stopped working when i try to clean inside the computer.
i want to know what is th problem of this thing?
is it a psu?
but the fan is running
is it cpu ?
guesses not? if it were the frying smell should be made?
ram?
google about this but just to now you the topic summary is diff from google search
it beeped 3/4 times 1 & 2nd time 3 rd time it did not beep
what is the meaning of this now when i try to power it will not run and slight frying smell came from cpu.but its very light and i think if i stay power it will fried like paj.

First of all Welcome to AT!!

Check all the power connectors. Sometimes they can get loose from a good cleaning and cause problems. Then inspect all the capacitors(little round towers) around the CPU area, if any are bulging or leaking then pull power immediately for safety sake. If still not fixed pull power from everything but the motherboard and video card(if it requires an external power connection) and try to power up. Could be a hdd, cdrom or floppy gone bad. If that doesn't work, test with another power supply if you have one available.

k i have cheched evry other things wehn i power on there is no display everything powers up except cpu fan and there is no beep also

edit : i try to test it and will powering on more time will harm cpu if the fan is not running and other are?s

I think you have a dead processor if I'm understanding you right.

just want to know one more thang does a dead cpu dont smell if its not touched by anything i mean running by its own and its dead and do not smell e.g short circuit ?
wanted to make sure cpu is not dead or just the fan

CPU's generally won't smell when dead until you take it out of the socket and smell the underside. Fan motors can quite commonly smell when the bearing(s) burn or when the wiring on the motor burns.
