CPU Fan Replacement

CPU fan died..... Going to replace the whole thing with a new one.... I know I need thermal grease but should I clean the old processor any or just add the grease and go?

Always clean out the thermal paste on both surfaces with a good cleaner like 90%+ alchohol. And dont touch the top of either heatsink or cpu after cleaning

Ok, seriously, I don't think that's necessary. It seems like a cash grab.

Unless you're like, overclocking and looking to maximize your cooling as much as possible, just use some isopropyl alcohol (99%+) and a cloth.

Yeah, good point, that works too. Thats usually what ive done before.
