Not sure if this is a stupid question or not.

But I purchased a Intel p3 900mhz cpu. It will be put into a slocket adapter.

The place I purchased it from, sent me a fan with it (it was included). But after checking with the manufacturers web page of the fan, the fan is for AMD Thunderbird cpus. Will this fan still fit a P3 cpu? Or are the Thunderbird cpus a different size?

Thanks for any reply.

PS: This is the fan they sent me

Most likely yes. But make sure that on installation the HSF doesn't rock and make sure it is making good contact.

Thanks for the reply. I replied earlier that the fan/heatsink wasn't sitting quite even and thought I would have to get a new fan. But I think I just fixed it... I didn't have the metal heatsink clamp pushed fully all the way in on one side which was causing it to raise up on the other side.
