I'm planning on getting an Ultima-90 heatsink and one 90mm S-Flex fan.

Do I place the fan on the rear(closer to the back of the tower) sucking air away from heatsink?
or
Infront of the heatsink blowing air cooler into the heatsink?

I'm not sure I want to get 2 fans and use them in unison....

What case you got? Because you can also rotate 90 degrees and have the fan underneath blowing up. It works great on my P182 'cause I have an exhaust fan on top.

The AiSuite reports 28C with my E6850 running at 3.6 ghz. I dont know if that's 100%accurate, but it's clearly very cool.

Of course, how you orient the U90 may depend on what obstructions you have.

I have a cheap older version of the Cooler Master Centurion 5 without the side case fan or air vents.
It still has the standard rear 120mm case fan though.

Usually they're placed to blow cool air into the heatsink. I don't have any empirical data to suggest one way is better than the other, but that's how most people do it.

I've got the centurion 532 and I've found that with tower heatsinks in these cases you're best off pushing air across it towards the rear exhaust fan. Make sure you have either a very good fan in the lower front or add a fan in the 5.25" bays pushing air through the case for best results.
