My CPU fan in connected to a cable coming from the PSU. If I connect it to the CPU Fan connector on the motherboard, the fan does not run. MB is ECS K7SEM. Computer was built by the person from whom I bought it. Any thoughts on why the CPU Fan connector does not work. Not a problem; I've been running it this way since I bought it in Sept '02. Just wondering.
If I go into CMOS Setup, the BIOS shows CPU Fan speed; it simply shows 0. So, apparently, I would be able to get a fan speed reading if the fan were connected to the CPU Fan connector and the fan was compatible with that MB feature.
