Hi,

Ive been playing around in my bios and was wondring what "CPU Drive Strength" does?
Its set to "2" by default.
The manual says "This option will effect the signal strength with data transfer from the north bridge chipset to the CPU. If you want the greatest stability we suggest you choose 2"
The options available are 0,1,2,3.
If someone can tell me what may be gained from changing this and what value is preferable for best performance would me much appreciated.
Im a bit wary of changing this as i dont want to fux@r my Win2K installation after all the tweaking ive done so far :(

Just an inference, but it must have something to do with the signals to/from the CPU. Assuming raising the number raises the strentgh, wouldn't it seem like setting it to "3" would provide the most stability? I don't think you'll screw your Windows installation. Go ahead and play around with it, do some benchmarks, tell us what it does. :)

It says in the manual that #2 gives most stability? Makes me wonder why when theres a #3, surely this be even more stable yeah?
Or does it go the other way?

Think i'll hang on a while longer before goin in at the deepend.
Surely someones been playin with this already and knows the answer? :)

I have visions of "Oh noooo, i cant get into Win2K and repair dont work, grrrr :( " Its happened to me once before so dont want to go through that again till im in the mood ;)
