Hi guys, I just received my CPU and then I applied Arctic Silver 2 on, I used my old HS which was an Alpha 6035, then plugged it in. When I powered on my PC it flicked and then restarted and all was left was a black screen. The CPU doesn't seem to work anymore. It was an AMD 1.4/266 OEM from newegg. Also, I didn't overclock or anything. As a matter of fact, I was even underclocking and only running at 1300. Since I have a KT7-Raid and it only had an option of 12above multiplier which only gave me 1300mhz.

Does anyone know if I could get an exchange from newegg? Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

from what I recall newegg gives a 30 day warranty on OEM Cpu's. I would call them Monday and ask them....

Have you tested the PC with another chip?

Do you have enough Power Supply to push the 1.4?

Yea, I had to put my 750 back in to have a PC to use. I thought I finally got rid of that thing, but guess it saved my life. I have a 300 PSU.
