I just bought a 3500+ from a friend. How can I tell what core it is?
1st set are: ADA3500DEP4AS
This is the 2nd set of numbers on the core: CAA2C0504MPMW
Someone told me to google it and it should show up, but it does not.

yeah it looks to be true...Newcastle....Ohh well...How would you guys rate this core over the others?

I know Venice and San Diego are better...but how much does it compare to the Winchester? How would the rating go? Newcastle, Win, San Deigo, then Venice?

opps I mean starting with the last being New Castle.

According to this it says it is a sckt 939 512kb l2 cache chip on the 130nm process CG stepping(newer)...did newcastles come in a sckt939 style???

I say new because the fab date is week 4 of 2005...winnnies were already being produced for some20-25 weeks...Mine is a 0437 week 37 2004....3000+,3200+, and 3500+ all came out at the same time...

Yep I found one at pricewatch just like it for 257...the good news is ofcourse sckt 939 which means dual channel and it will work on 939 boars which may or may not give you a good upgrade path...

Dont fret though 130nm it is a later stepping and may very will OC as well as some of the winnies of that time which were terrible...I say 2.4ghz should be easy and 2.5ghz is a real possibily if not a hair more...
