I have a 1.4 ghz t-bird, with a cooler master cpufan, and two additional case fans, and in my bios it says that my cpu temp is 130. I thought that high was bad. What do I need to do to bring it down? Thanks
Make sure there isn't some sort of thermal pad between the HSF and the CPU. If there is, remove it and add a little thermal compound. I highly recommend Arctic Silver II... works great for me. Make sure that the HSF is getting good contact with the CPU. Is the heatsink hot to the touch? If not, you're not getting any heat transfer and you should readjust the heatsink and fan.
I wondered about that myself. I'm hoping its not 130C... don't think the processor'd last long at that temperature. As in a few seconds at most. If your BIOS is displaying Farenheit, then that's not a bad temp at all. Good catch GrandHooHa.
