Hi,
I'm building a new rig and need advise on what CPU cooling solutions I should be looking at. Main bits are as follows:
AMD 2700+ Box set with cooling fax (one with fan was in stock).
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
2 x 512MB Corsair PC2700
ASUS V9280VS
Chieftec case & 360W PS (dual fans)
3 x 80mm case fans - 1 exhaust at rear, 1 supply at front bottom & 1 side supply. (2 coolmaster with thermal sensor + side one is chieftec fan)
Main applications are heavy Photoshop and scanning work with big slide scans and image files, and the odd bit of gaming. System will be configured to run aggressively, but not with big overclocking speeds - just some tweaking. Main requirements are I need it to be stable and don't want it sounding like a rocket in my office.
What is the standard AMD fan like? Guess it can keep the CPU core temps down at normal clocking speeds but what about with slight overclocking? Want to try to keep the noise levels to a resonable level.
Have a friend with a Zalman CNPS6000-Cu and like the sound levels from this settup but my only concern is that it will not supply enought cooling as he is only running a standard XP2000+. Looked for info on it and Zalman website say it supports XP's over 2600+, so I'm guessing it has enough for a XP2700+. Anyone here have experience with this cooler? Can easily get it locally and I'm interested in it.
Welcome to suggestions that will provide good cooling whilst maintaining low sounds levels and other brand that I should look for? Looking forward to getting this kit running this week.
Cheers,
Ray...
