what is the best cpu cooling fan and heatsink for the amd athlon 2500+

seems to me that the slk-900u doesnt have a fan, does this really cool better then regular style ones?

i'll be building soon, gonna run a 2500 barton and need to know of a good ocing hsf, lets get some more opinions in here.

The 800 and 900 are pretty close. Not worth the $$ IMO, but it is the best....

i agree. i would go for the SLK-800 rather than the 900U

Oh and regarding this, you need to purchase a fan to go on top of any heatsink.

smartcase fan II.. adjustable so u can go from panaflo quiet to delta black label loud

I'd take either some Papst fan if u'd like a quiet system, or go for a TMD fan, they offer better performance.

Generally I'd take the DP-101 heatsink with some 70mm TMD fan - gotta be a great combination...
