I've just received my parts for my first ever build. I decided to get an aftermarket CPU cooler for my E8400. My mobo is Asus P5Q Pro which is a 775 socket. The ZALMAN CNPS9500A LED CPU cooler states that it is compatible with Intel 775 socket, but I've run into a problem.
When I try to mount the cooler on top of the successfully fastened bracket around the CPU, there is not adequate space to hinge the metal board around the plastic bracket.
The bracket is very close to some "cubes" on the mobo. I can hinge the metal board/plate onto one of the sides which is not disturbed by mobo "cubes" sticking up, but not the other one.
Has anyone here any experience with this exact cooler+mobo combo? Please help me find out whether there's a solution to this problem or if I have to buy a different cooler.
