CPU cooler weight

Been planning a build while browsing cpu coolers I noticed that many are very, very heavy. I totally understand mass = better cooling but what is the safe point regarding it?
For example I saw a nice looking be quiet tower and the thing weighed around 1.25 kg, if I remember correctly isn’t the spec weight for a cooler supposed to be around 450 grams?
I know the mounting material helps but is there any major concerns about such a heavy cooler on the motherboard?

I don’t move my PC often but I do occasionally move it to vacuum or sometimes the dog or cats wrestle near it and shake the PC a bit.

As long as the motherboard is properly mounted (screws used in all mounting holes), there's not much concern. Companies like Noctua have quality mounting hardware.

The biggest concern for heavy coolers is when doing things like shipping the PC, or transporting it (like moving or going to a gaming event). When doing things like that, it would be wise to remove it (IMO).

Weight is an issue but especially so the leveraged weight, how far away from the board/mount that weight is.

I'd remove such a PSU prior to shipping the system and be a little more cautious moving it around.

You might be able to train the dog to stay away from the system but the cat... you may have to decide which you like more, cat or heatsink. 😉
