CPU cooler needed?

Hello. Well wasnt sure if this was a case, cpu cooler, or what question.

I ordered most all of my stuff based on some recommendations from you all. I went with the I5 760 and the Asus 6850 amoung other things. Everyone keeps saying wait for SandyBridge if you can. Soooo, I thought hey I will just build two and space them apart. One for me and one for the wife since hers date back to 2004.

Anyhow, I got a HAF922. What I want to do is buy another case for her prb around Feb, but smaller since this one will be the main for gaming and video and hers just for school etc. Looking at an ATX Mini

My plan is to give her the Gigabyte P55A-UD3, I5, and RAM then order a smaller graphics card. I will keep the 6850 and order another MB, RAM, and new Processor.

Where I am stuck is the case and whether I need a CPU cooler for the I5 once I get a mini case and how I know what will fit in it?? What do you guys think of either of the two cases listed above, and what do you recommend for CPU cooling if anything??

The stock cooler will fit and provide sufficient cooling (as long as you're not overclocking). Of your two choices, personally I would get the Lian-Li due to the higher build quality.

If you are not overclocking, then the stock cooler will be fine. I just installed an i5 760 and with the stock cooler, the temps are in the upper 20's and lower 30's at idle. Depending on the room temp, it will be in the upper 20's on all four cores. This is with the stock thermal pad as well.

So far while using it, the highest it got was mid 40's just doing normal stuff.

I was contemplating buying an aftermarket cooler as well but I decided not to and I am pretty happy with the stock cooler especially for the size of it.

Now if you just can't stand the push pin design, then you might want to get a different one but I did not have any trouble mounting it.

Agreed, if you are not overclocking then the stock cooler will work okay.
