As the title suggests, I'm looking for a recommendation for a CPU cooler for the 3570K. My original plan was for a 2500K and so I had the CM Hyper 212 Plus in mind. However, I don't see any mention of it being compatible with the Ivy Bridge gen and am looking for a good CPU cooler.

Motherboard is either the ASRock Z77 Extreme3/4, case is the Raidmax Seiran ATX-902WW.

Thank you

I do not count myself an expert, but maybe my opinion will help.

What are your goals for the CPU cooler? Are you looking to overclock and so want better cooling than stock? Are you looking for a quieter coller than the stock cooler? Both?

If neither, don't spend the money. Keep in mind that the stock cooler can handle light overclock duty.

The CM Hyper 212 Plus is decent for the price (especially at $25 w/ free shipping on Newegg.com).

If you are doing any signifcant overclocking I would suggest something beefier.

PS. I love my cooler and would highly recommend it. Especially if you can get it on sale.

@TracerBullet:
Thank you. That was what I wanted to know. Appreciate the feedback.

@TylerS
I am not looking for a cooler to overclock. I do plan on overclocking in the future, but I am also looking to water cool in the future, so this cooler has to work for a non-OC build.

I might do some light overclocking to get started (don't want to invest a pot full of money on new HW before knowing my way around). And I'd like a quieter cooler than stock if I can get one.

Thank you both for your replies.

I have CM Hyper 212 Plus and I did overclock a little bit when I first build my system, it handled it pretty well, no significant rise in temp.
