CPU compatability

Hello all!

As some of you guys are nothing less then glorius stars in knowledge i'll ask here...

Is it possible to run a Tbred 1700-1900 on a mobo that says it will do PALAMINO 1900+
as most, with Bios update, and where the compatability chart dont even mention Tbreds?

i am thinking about the Aopen MK7A , and i got it as a gift, if it will run a Tbred at all, i will do that,
if not.. i dont know, since all voltage and stuff is autodetected, was easyer b4,
when everything was on jumpers, or switches...

This IS kind of tricky, you are right...
Your best bet would be just send a quick and dirty email to tech support, asking them to clarify....
This way you know for sure...
I would say, that the mobo IS going to support Tbreds, but once again, if it is not clearly specified, the tech support email is your best bet

Well, Done that allready, was my first step off action,
But They stopped support for the mobo 3 months after it was released,
and tech wont say if its possible or not,
just refer to the CPU compability chart for what bios rev i would "need" to flash to...
They do say that i should be able to run the palaminis without flashing,
just that they might be detected "wrong"

Oh well, guess i will have to try,
unless anyone has a good guess,
or thinks its simply is impossible?

I think that it is going to support the TbredB..
Just treat it like a Palomino.... with smaller V core voltage...

Hhum, i been informed in a mail from a dude who seam to know a bit about AMD,
that it should inded work, but that i MIGHT have some trouble to get it to boot,
if the bios is set not to on unrecognized cpu's.. BUT, i have heard from the people at Aopen,
that it should be no problem to run any of the cpu's that the motherboard will run, after a flash,
even b4 flashing, so i guess it should be ok.
But offcourse, they are still insisting on that it dont work to run the Tbred cpu's on the mobo..
Im going to order one, and tell em what i think about them if it IS possible..

I'll probobly go and get my self kicked off ther forum, as they clearly say "no" everywhere in there...
oh well, i think its no more then right, they are running a "free forum" and try to direct it so they make more money..
Guess it SHOULD hit the fan someday :- )
