CPU/Chipset Comparison

All things being equal, would I get any benefit from a newer chipset than an older one?

I mean, if I used an athlon xp 1700 with ddr266 ram at stock speeds, would I get any noticeable difference in performance if I ran a KT600 board instead of say, a KT333 board?

Possibly a minor improvement - but you'd then have the ability to drop in any newer Athlon XP CPU and/or better memory at any time.

the newer chipset will be faster, ie gice you more frames in a game
