Is there a HUGE performance boost if I went from a 2MB cache CPU to a 6MB cache CPU? Ive got a more detailed post about compatibility in the CPU forum but I am curious to know what the difference would be.

it helps, but as a % increase, it depends on the tasks.

a lot of repeditive tasks benifits from it (espically over a small data set). Huge data sets and random changing of it does not.

Most games are generally in the later, espically strategy games. Consoled game ports to the PC proberly more in the first (being designed for the features of the console).

Okay.. so the general consensus seems to be No.

I am guessing the boost in clock speed Mhz isnt that much of a difference either.

It sounds like this is a dupe of your CPU thread. I'm going to close this thread; you'll get better answers in the CPU forum anyhow.
