CPU buying advice.

I want to upgrade from my Core 2 Quad Q8300 to a new CPU. I shortlisted 2 of them.

1 : FX 8350
2: I5 3570k

From what I have read i5 beats FX8350 mostly anywhere. My main usage will be gaming and Android Development.

Max Resolution is 1600 x 900 , so mostly all games would run well at high (will buy used HD 6870 and crossfire it with mine for GTA V <3),

Concern over i5
I wanted to wait for Haswell line of processor but they would be costly. Also, since my resolution is not that high I can go for ivy bridge processor but socket would be incompatible with haswell.

So, I think that FX 8350 would be nice so that in future I could get SteamRoller due to compatibility of AM3+ socket.
SteamRoller would be better than Piledriver and I wont need a new motherboard .

Also, I am not into over clocking because I never felt need to do it (useless to get from 70 to 90 fps when my monitor refresh rate is only 60Hz). And I wont do this time too (until frames drop below 15-20).

Games I will play mostly
Call of Duty : MW3, Black Ops2
GTA V(whenever it is out)
Tomb Raider
Medal of Honor : WoW
Battlefield 3 etc

All at ultra with resoulution 1600*900.

So advice me plz

If you are not going to overclock then there is no point in buying a 3570K. I wouldn't buy a 8350 based off of a future chip that may or may not be supported by the same chipset. I love AMD, but as a primary gaming machine I couldn't find a good reason to buy a 8350 over a 3570K..

I would buy this

Great chip for the price - Essentially a 3770 with slightly lower clocks.

Thanks to CRASHTECH for educating us on this CPU 😀

Can you overclock that? I'm looking to upgrade, but I would really like to overclock.
