CPU "Broadway" - Cachememory

Hi! I got real trubble trying to understand these 2 pictures,
I've tried for sooooo long, and still nada! So please, is there
anyone here that can/want to explain what is going on these?
In a way so I can explain it further on to someone else..

Its basicly a way for the computer to store and retrieve information inside an three dimensional array.
The only difference betweeb the pictures is the state the cache is in,one is in the generic "state" state(they just don't specify in what state its in and just say that there is a state) and the other shows to be valid
