okay now I am lost. RussianSensation said gts250, then Scholzpdx said gts240 and now you are saying gt240. those are three different cards.

This is why I can't stand their naming schemes. Damn! MY 8800gts 320mb might be one of the last cards i'll own that wasn't re-branded or neutered of some kind.

Now I have to select one from these two,GTS250 and HD 4850.
But,which is better in terms of gaming power, energy efficient, quite & cool and reliable ?
The price difference is very little and as u ppl mentioned I must have to buy 1GB version of any of these cards.
Does brand really matter cos my brother has Palit9600GSO and it running really hot @65C-70C.....

gts 250 is more quiet and cooler. Make sure you get one thats clocked at 738 core.
They draw about equal power.
Gaming power about equal.

Just get a gts 250 1gb.

Make sure you get one thats clocked at 738 core.

Thanks!
Is that default of overclocked ?
And do u thing I should invest on Corsair VX550W ?

Corsair VX450W - Rs.4000/-
Corsair VX550W - Rs.5000/-

I mean is this PSU future proof ?
There will be always a single video card no SLI or Ceossfire.

Thanks!

You should be fine with either though the 550 is a little more future proof since if you ever wanted to get say a GTX 480 or GTX 470 it could power it. NVidia recommends a 600 Watt PSU, but since it's a Corsair it should be able to power the 480. I think the 450 should be enough to power up to a 5870 though.

Thanks!

Yes the Corsair vx550 is a good psu.

Let us know how it works out.
