What software is most like Autocad in the CPU benchmarks?

I run Autocad Civil 3D 2011 x64 on W7. I am looking to upgrade this winter, but I am not familar with any of the other 3d programs listed in the benchmarks. Most of my work is still in 2d with maybe 20% 3d use (I recently upgraded from Autocad 2002). I am sure that when I fully am comfortable, I will be using the 3d capabilities more.

My system now:
Intel E8500 w/ an Asus MB, 8Gb Ram, C300 SSD for C:, several other HD's, a 300G Mirrored drive, 2 x nVidia FX 580 workstation card, 1 x 24" monitor, 2 x 19" monitors, a SATA3 card & a raid1 card.

I did a search looking for Autocad & benchmarks, but didn't see anything recent.

Thank you for your help

ok first, get either the 27 inch ips dell, or the 30 inch.. they're great for autocad

second, get a 2600k, cuz that's awesome for autocad as well. :D:D

I do a lot of Autocad Architecture, REVIT and 3dsMAX. I have an an OC'd i7920 at home, it works well. I have a 6 core i7 at the office, it works better....

I have an m4500 lappy with an i7 quadcore that does OK so long as the models don't get too big.

Personally, if I were going to upgrade I would go with an LGA 2011 board and CPU in hope of getting a couple years out of it.

( and I have a pair of U2711's at both locations ;)
