Efficient Computer | E1 General-Purpose Processor
Meet E1: the world’s most energy efficient general-purpose processor, fit to unlock unimaginable applications across industries.

Well worth watching the entire video. Dr. Ian explains it very well, in fact, too well and has gotten me excited at least.
A P4 or Bulldozer or Raptor Lake would look like a nuclear reactor compared to this CPU.
It's launching first as an embedded CPU, claiming 100X power efficiency and there's plans for a bigger Photon P1 CPU that should hopefully beat a P4 (though not the unreleased Tejas. I would need substantial evidence for that claim).
To most of us at this time, this won't change our DIY PC lives but further down the line, it could put a CPU literally everywhere. See a small dot on the wall? Might be a CPU!
In fact, this CPU threatens to destroy the recent huge investments in power availability that many AI companies have made to keep their data centers well fed with the required power. Suddenly, you only need maybe one tenth of that power at most. Lights out everybody. Investors, cry yourselves to sleep!
