CPU and Video Upgrade.

Hello.

I wanted to know if a CPU upgrade will allow me to turn up all the eye-candy on a 24" and 26" LCD screens.

The 24" is an MVA 8ms with a core2 7300 and 4870 1gb.

The 26" is a TN with 5ms Athlon 6000 AM2 and a 4850 card.

If I were to upgrade the 24" Core2 to a Quad 6600 or Core2 8500 would it be any smoother for games like NWN2 and other games.Supreme commander 2 , Starcraft 2 and maybe Guild wars 2. (XP 32 Home). Or even Crysis as I might purchase Warhead for Online play.

if I were to upgrade the 26" to a 720 x3 Athlon and a 5850 for the same reason NWN2 ,Supreme commander 2 , Starcraft 2 and maybe Guild wars 2, Crysis.(Vista 32 Premium).

Would these upgrades make much difference?

I was going to leave the video card on the c2d alone so it would be

24" with Core2 8500 or Core Quad and 4870

26" with Phenom 720x3 with a 5850 or a comparable card.

For the 24", there won't be a difference in performance.

For the 26", doing both upgrades would be substantial and you'd notice a performance boost.
