i know that ive been doin a lot of noob questions but this is my first time building a computer

i was wondering if my mother board and my processor work together i know the motherboard is amd compatible but some person commented about the Processor not being GX2 or something so all im wondering is this the right thing to buy? will they work together.

The nVidia 7950GX2 is a video card, compatable with that board. Your GX2 friend is an idiot.
